First global bond issue made by a Spanish company
 
REPSOL YPF ISSUES BONDS TO A VALUE OF 1.250 MILLION DOLARS
 

Repsol YPF issued a five year bond on July 12th, 2000, at a value of 1,250 million dolars. Initially, the offer was made at 700 million dolars, having been increased as a result of great demand.

The effective yield at which the issue was carried out is 7,471%, allowing a margin of 129 basic points upon the five years reference from the American treasury, equivalent to the Libor index, plus an additional 29 basic points.

This is the first global bond to be issued by a Spanish company, simultaneously positioned in the American, European, and Asian markets. It is also the biggest issue in dollars made by a Spanish company.
