| REPSOL YPF PRESENTS A NEW BUTANE GAS BOTTLE |
||
A practical design for
6 kilograms of gas This new design weighs only half
the traditional gas bottle (similar to the weight of twelve
"tetra-briks"), and is ideal for use in low consumption gas
appliances, such as ovens, refrigerators, caravan equipment, barbecues,
coolers, burners, garden lights, mobile stoves (infrared and catalytic),
camping equipment, etc. The new container will be fitted with the same
valve and regulator as the conventional bottle, and will be complementary
to it in offering a new option for consumption and
distribution. An important aspect of this 6
kilogram bottle will be its availability, for it will be found at 65
service stations throughout the Spanish mainland in the first retail
phase, and will be on sale at more than 300 stations by the end of
2000. As announced by the Managing
Director of LPG, Juan Badosa, "This product will have an attractive price
for the market it targets." According to Mr. Badosa, "The average prices
in neighbouring countries are considerably higher than in Spain. For
example, Portugal is 49% more expensive, and France, 148%, and this does
not include door-to-door delivery as we do." Repsol YPF, with a global
turnover of 3.2 million tons of LPG, is the second largest integrated oil
company in the world in this sector. It is market leader in Spain,
supplying some thirteen-and-a-half million homes, with a sales volume of
over 2.3 million tons. |
