REPSOL-YPF ANNOUNCES FIRST OIL FROM THE BUCKLAND FIELD IN THE NORTH SEA

Repsol-YPF announced the start of the oil production from the Buckland field in the North Sea (Great Britain). The production of the field has reached more than 37,000 barrels/day plus 1.5 million m3 of associated gas per day.

Partners are Repsol-YPF (33.3%), Enterprise Oil (14.4%), Amerada Hess (14.1%), OMV (3.2%) and Mobil with 35% as Operator.

The field, in Block 9/18, has been developed using subsea wells tied back to the existing Beryl Alpha production platform, some 10 kilometres away. Associated gas will be co-mingled with Beryl gas and exported via an existing gas line to St. Fergus.

At the present time, the combined net production of Repsol-YPF in the North Sea, coming from the two fields now in operation, Harding and Buckland, amounts to aproximately 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, having multiplied by six its production in the last four years.
