REPSOL GOES AHEAD WITH ITS REFINANCING PROGRAMME FOR THE ACQUISITION OF YPF
 

Issue of 1 billion euros at three years

Repsol, through its affiliate Repsol International Finance, has issued Eurobonds at three years for an amount of 1 billion euros. These bonds have a coupon of 3.50% per year, with an effective cost of 3.69%. Lead managers for the issue were the banks BBV, Goldman Sachs, Invercaixa, Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney. Argentaria and Warburg Dillon Read have also taken part.

This operation makes Repsol one of the largest issuers in the new European currency, euros. So far this year, it has issued bonds at 18 months, three years and five years, for an overall amount of 5.65 billion euros (940 billion pesetas).
