| CHAIRMAN OF REPSOL, ALFONSO CORTINA, APPOINTED
MEMBER OF YPF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Repsol�s Chairman and CEO, Alfonso Cortina,
has been appointed Member of the YPF Board of Directors. On January 20th last, Repsol won
a 14.99% stake in YPF, S.A. in the auction held by the Government of the
Republic of Argentina. As a result of the aforementioned
acquisition, Repsol has become major shareholder in YPF, S.A., which is the
largest private oil and gas company in Latin
