REPSOL PRESENTS BOOK ON VII REPSOL-HARVARD SEMINAR

Repsol presents this afternoon the book, "Competition and Realignment in Global Energy Markets", which summarizes the contributions presented during the VII Repsol-Harvard Seminar held last year in Granada, along with a summary of the debates held there.

The event, which will be held at 7:30 P.M. in the auditorium of the Compaa Logstica de Hidrocarburos, will be presided by Mr. Alfono Cortina, Chairman and CEO of Repsol, and Mr. Jos Luis Daz Fernndez, President of the Foundation, co-sponsor of the book, and will also include an address by Mr. Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani, Chairman of Mondoil Corporation and previous Chairman of Apache International, Inc. Mr. Mossavar-Rahmani is the editor of the book and has participated in these seminars since their first edition in 1988.

Participation in the realization of the VII Repsol-Harvard Seminar was one of the first external actions of the Repsol Foundation, which was created in 1995 and whose aims are to contribute towards increasing the quality of university teaching, promoting investigation and the study of international relations in their socioeconomical aspects, all of this within the scope of the energy sector.

The purpose of these seminars is to give an opportunity for industry executives, government officials and academics to discuss the energy markets from different perspectives. Meetings held during the VII Seminar were focussed on natural gas, electricity and downstream oil markets, offering a analysis of the evolution of these world energy areas, constantly becoming more interrelated.

The Repsol Foundation, in collaboration with Harvard University, is now preparing and organizing the eighth edition of this Seminar, which will be held in Seville during June.
