THE HIGHER INSTITUTE OF ENERGY WILL GIVE COURSES IN NEW MASTERS DURING THE NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR
 

The Higher Institute of Energy (Instituto Superior de la Energ�a), an institution created by the Repsol YPF Foundation, will move into its new facilities in Mostoles (Madrid) for the academic year 2001/2002. For the past two years, this Institute has carried out its activities in provisional installations in that same municipality.

This new building offers an area of over 5,000 m2, in which Masters courses will be given under the following headings:

  1. The Exploration & Production of Hydrocarbons
  2. Refining, Gas & Marketing
  3. Petrochemicals
  4. The Economy and Management of Energy Companies, in collaboration with the IESE (Instituto de Estudios Superiores Empresariales)

The new course opens on September 3rd 2001, and closes at the end of July 2002, providing 1,400 hours tuition in all. Seminars and training courses for professionals in the energy sector will be held simultaneously.

Masters courses follow a method based on practical examples and cases of technical and economic relevance, and team projects covering various subjects, under the supervision of professional experts from each area. Every student will have an individual workspace equipped with a modern computer system.

A series of grants will be given by the Repsol YPF Foundation in Spain, and the YPF Foundation in Argentina to highly qualified applicants wishing to study these Masters.

The Higher Institute of Energy is an educational institution of international scope, having as its foremost mission the design and teaching of postgraduate programmes for young upper graduates wishing to start their professional life in industrial and services companies, or other institutions of a techno-economic nature. These postgraduate programmes provide additional training in business skills from an integrated concept of the energy sector, supplying the knowledge required by the industry and helping develop the sector by stretching a link between university studies and business reality.
