THE FUEL

It is important to use quality fuel.

1.- Always use the fuel with the octane count recommended by the manufacturer of the vehicle. Remember that you can always use fuels with a higher octane count than that recommended, but never with a lower count.

2.- All vehicles registered from January 1993 onwards have an anti-contamination catalyst. Vehicles registered prior to this date may or may not have this device, which was started to be installed from the end of the 80’s onwards. You should be aware that cars with catalysts can only use lead-free petrol. To avoid confusion, the mouth of the petrol tank in these vehicles is smaller than that of vehicles which do not have this catalyst.

3.- Bear in mind that on the other hand the great majority of cars without the catalyst can use lead-free petrol without limitation.

4.- If you have a diesel vehicle, besides not refuelling with petrol, you should know that recently diesel oils with greatly improved qualities have been introduced in the market.
