PROTECTION OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE

Repsol Qu�mica is highly sensitive to the concerns that may affect the quality of life, and from the very beginning subscribed to the undertaking established between the industries in the chemicals sector, on a world-wide forum, that has come to be known as "Responsible Care". This is a voluntary, public and pro-active agreement between chemical companies society, for continuous progress in their activities in relation to safety, health, and protection of the environment, in all aspects of their activities.

Responsible Care pursues the fulfilment of those company values, "that safety, health, and safeguarding the environment are considered as priority by all employees in carrying out their work", in agreement with the principles of "sustained development".

This voluntary commitment of being made public, becomes morally a principle to be upheld.

Safeguarding the Environment

Conservation of our surroundings and the environment is, together with safety, one of Repsol's principles and values, in accordance with that stated in Repsol's Declaration of Mission, Values and Principles:

"We shall pay particular attention to safety, safeguarding the environment and to collaborating with the community".

Consequently, the Repsol Group declares and assumes the environmental commitments associated to its processes, installations and services, paying particular attention to the safety of its employees, the local environment and the general public.

Repsol Qu�mica, as the leading plastics manufacturing company in Spain, and in agreement with the principles stated, develops new products and applications to increase the lifespan of plastics, minimise wastes and promote the recycling and energy recovery of these, in agreement with the European Union Directive of the Management of Packaging Waste.

Repsol Qu�mica has promoted the creation of Cicloplast, to revalue plastics wastes and to take part in the first integrated system of managing of packaging wastes (Ecoembalajes Espa�a, S.A.). Repsol Qu�mica also participates in similar systems in several countries in the European Union.

Safety and Health Protection



In applying the criteria of effectiveness and quality, to the use of plastics and operation techniques, maximum guaranties for safety, and health protection and foreseen, planned and developed. These aspects shall always be considered and put into practice in carrying out any type of operation in Repsol Qu�mica.

 


Total Quality

Since its founding in 1986, Repsol Qu�mica has launched, with the full support and approval of the company's Management Committee, on a process of "Total Quality". This is regarded as a major principle of the company's commitment to the market and its customers, "in applying quality plans aimed at continuous improvement".

As an acknowledgement of the quality systems already developed, the company has eight ISO 9002 certifications for the production installations at Puertollano and Tarragona, and one certification 9001 for Technical Service and Development Services.

Moreover, Repsol Qu�mica has been successful in receiving approval and certification from its domestics and international customers adhered to the principles of Total Quality. These certifications are the outcome of the appropriate audits and continuous evaluation of our supplies.
