Repsol YPF has an active presence in Europe, Africa, Middle and Far East as well as in the United States. It operates in countries such as Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt and Indonesia. Altogether, it holds interests in 40 production blocks and 53 exploration blocks, which total a mineral property acreage of over 225,000 km2 of which about 40,000 km2 are producing blocks (17,250 km2 Repsol YPF net share) and 185,000 km2 are exploration blocks (94,300 km2 Repsol YPF net share).

Strategic Areas

Repsol YPF�s total investment in exploration and production during the 1999 fiscal year in these countries was of 508 million Euros, of which about 400 million Euros were invested in development activities, 90 millios in exploration activities and 18 millions to other investments.

The company�s net total production is of over 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (75% oil and 25% gas). Repsol YPF�s net proved reserves in the ENARM countries (Europe, North of Africa and the Rest of the World) total 776 million barrels of oil equivalent which split into 508 million barrels of liquids and 45,6 billion cubic meters of gas.
