Utility: Converting an old unused sofa into the centre of the living room.
Difficulty: Easy
Cost: Average
Materials: - Blue material to upholster the sofa. Needs to measure at least 30 cm more than the sofa to be sewn in, if you do it yourself. You can use the original material or else take it to a professional upholsterer.
- Upholstering stapling gun.
- Braiding tape (to finish the upholstery).
Steps:
1. Stretch the material across the old sofa, doubling it up at the back of the sofa and stapling it so that it is firmly fixed.
2. Cover the edges with upholstering tape.
Advices: - This space was useless under the former distribution. It was a diaphanous room. Now it has been divided into three separate but visually connected rooms.
- The centrepiece of the room is clearly the sofa.
- Hence, from the lounge, which is effectively the resting spot of the staircase, we pass directly to the two bedrooms.
- The use of colour on the walls and the upholstery helps create a comfortable and luminous atmosphere.
