Synopsis: As a boy, Superman is sent from the planet Krypton to planet earth by his father Jor-El (Marlon Brando). Here an American family under the name of Clark Kent brings him up. As an adult, Clark (Christopher Reeve) works for a newspaper and gets to know another journalist called Luisa Lane (Margot Kidder) with whom he falls in love. But she is fascinated by Superman, the superhero who has to use all his powers to defeat the evil Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), whose aim is to kill Superman and take over the planet.
