Synopsis: A swimmer dies as a result of being attacked by a giant white shark in Amity Island. The local authorities decide not to close the beaches and make sure that no news about the investigation gets out before the 4th July as it would be an economic catastrophe. The local sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) sets out to catch the shark with the help of Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), an expert in sharks and the sailor Quint (Robert Shaw).
