Synopsis: The famous actress Chris McNeil (Ellen Burstyn) is worried about the strange behavior of her 12-year-old daughter Regan (Linda Blair) and decides to ask doctors about the symptoms. They find nothing wrong with her physically and attribute her condition to psychological problems. But her condition worsens, with stunning muscular spasms, physical deformations and split personality. The mother is so desperate she turns to Father Karras (Jason Miller), a priest and psychiatrist at the university and has him perform an exorcismo. Karras seeks help from Father Merrin (Max Von Sydow), an elderly Jesuit archeologist who has experience as an exorcist.
