What is psychosomatic gymnastics? It is a new sporting discipline that helps you to get to know yourself better through exercise. Any person can practise it, and at any age. Through it you will discover how your organism and your mind function. The technique consists in doing very slow and simple neuromuscular exercises: rotations, twists and press-ups, on the floor or standing up. The aim is for you to appreciate what it is you are doing with your body.
Difficulty Low. Keep in mind that the exercises are done with very slow and simple movements and that you are supervised by a professional at all times. And you can always seek the help of a personal trainer.
The sessions You must be dedicated and practise this sport two to three times a week.
The equipment You need very basic equipment. Clothes should be comfortable, loose and able to keep body temperature so that you do not get cold. You can go barefoot or wear socks.
The results Immediate. From the very first session you become more flexible, gain equilibrium and become more coordinated. Although you will have to wait three to four weeks before being able to control all the movements of your body, you will end up knowing yourself far better, understanding what makes your body tick and how your nervous system reacts. You will also improve your memory and mental agility and avoid future injuries.
A recommendation This activity is not about being able to perform each and every one of the exercises to perfection, but about being aware of what you are doing. If you suffer back pains, this is a good choice of sport.
