Asturias The age-old human presence in Asturias can be seen in the great number of caves replete with paintings and etchings that have endured up to the present time.
- Tito Bustillo Cave Made up of three galleries with impressive calcareous formations. Its fame is due to the Wall of Paintings, decorated with beautiful animal figures some 13,000 years ago during the Magdalenian period. The paintings take on greater volume due to the undulations of the rock. Place: Ribadesella
- El Pindal Cave Also belongs to the upper Palaeolithic period of the Magdalenian age. The cave is found in a crag of rock, on a sea-facing cliff and contains several animal paintings. Place: Pimiango, near Llanes
- Buxu Cave Paintings and etchings from the Magdalenian age. Place: Cardes, near Cangas de On�s
- Pe�a Tu Idol This is probably a bronze age burial site located in a rock with painted figures in relief. Place: Llanes
- Campa de Torres Settlement This is a pre-Roman and Roman site dating from the 4th century BC to the 3rd century AD. A museum displays the objects found in the area. Place: Gij�n
- Coa�a Settlement This is one of Spain's most important Celtic settlements, founded in the Iron Age and later occupied by the Romans. The remains of fortifications and the stone walls of the circular castors can be seen. Place: Valle de Navia
- Archaeological Museum Displays objects found in different sites across Asturias. Place: Oviedo.

Cantabria
- Altamira Cave This is the so-called Sistine Chapel of the Quaternary age. This is the first cave in which paintings dating back to the Palaeolithic age have been found. It was found be sheer luck in 1868. Place: Santillana del Mar
- Puente Viesgo Caves The number and variety of paintings found in Monte Castillo exceeds even those of the Altamira complex. Place: Puente Viesgo
- Juli�briga Settlement The remains of this fort are the most important of its kind in the area, not forgetting the ancient coastal Roman settlements of Portus Victoria (now Santander) or Flavi�briga, also known as Portus Amanus, and now the location of Castro Urdiales. Place: Reinosa

- Archaeological Museum Place: �lava
- Route of the dolmens This route is located in the southern part of Alava, bordered by the Sierra de Cantabria in the north and in the south by the river Ebro, including the municipalities of Laguardia, Elvillar and Crip�n. Seven dolmens with galleries have been discovered along with a burial chamber and corridor. Place: �lava
