Tools and materials Monkey wrench or adjustable wrench and the shower elements. Also screws, plugs, screwdriver and drill.
Parts of the set - There are many different sets available, of varying shapes, materials and styles, from the most daring and modern-looking to those specially designed for children. Some even have two shower handles.
- The most important part is the flexible tube, made of reinforced plastic or brass. The free screw thread is recommended as it is far easier to adjust without risk of breaking the protector and the plastic tube that carries the water.
- The vertical bar of varying lengths is another essential element. The shower handle is fixed on to this and its height adjusted. This support also allows the direction of the jet to be adjusted. It has an outlet for the flexible tube. Another flexible tube connects the bar to the bath's water outlet. Small trays, soap dishes or soap dispensers can be fixed on to this bar.
- The shower head is the final part of the handle and with its different nozzles produces the relaxation or massage effects of the shower. The variety of jets depends on the type of shower head: massage, powerjet, gentle spray, fine rain, etc.
How to install - Calculate the height at which you want to install the bar. There will probably be two supports, one above and one below. The height depends on the user and the room. - Mark the spot where you need to drill in order to install the bar supports. There are various installation methods, depending on the type of set, but one part will always have to be screwed in. The other decorative part will fit into this. Also do not overlook the distance between the tap and the shower handle and head inlet. - Drill in the holes ensuring you do not break any of the tiles if you have them, and fit in the plugs. Hold the corresponding part of the bar and screw in, depending on the model. - Then screw the flexible tube into the water outlet and the shower handle. You can do this by hand and tighten with a wrench if necessary ensuring you do not damage the thread. The watertight seal will prevent water from leaking. - Screw in the shower handle to the other end of the tube and it will be ready to use.
