Utility: Decorating a table.
Difficulty: Easy
Cost: Low
Materials: - Fruit (always with tough skins such as oranges, lemons and pomegranates).
- Medium-size basket.
- Hard sponge.
- Rippled paper for making a bow.
Steps:
1. Choose the fruit; they can be pomegranates, oranges, laurel leaves, eucalyptus, broom or rosemary, because we want a centrepiece that smells good.
2.
Make some small vertical cuts in the fruit and stick clove in the openings. Wait a few days for them to release water before continuing.
3.
If the basket is tall, put some crumpled newspaper in the bottom; then place the hard sponge and nail in, if necessary, the aromatic branches. This way it will not be necessary to fill the basket so much for it to look full. Finally, make a ribbon with rippled paper and run it round the whole basket. It should be a soft tone so that it does not stand out too much.
Advices: You can make these centrepieces in many ways and with a variety of elements. Besides fruit you can fill the basket with branches of broom, lavender or rosemary. Don't let dust ruin your work. When you finish the piece, spray it with hairspray. Thus, all you need to do is dust it when it gets dirty.
