Using old keys to decorate a wall
Utility: Covering up a fuse box and giving an antique look to a foyer.
Difficulty: Average
Cost: Average
Materials:
- A construction pallet or a board with the frame facing backwards so as to leave a hollow space and thus cover up the fuse box.
- Walnut stain, wax, sandpaper for wood and flat varnish.
- Studs, hooks and wall plugs.
- Keys you no longer use, antique if possible.

Steps:
1. If the board is new, make it look aged with walnut stain dissolved in water. If it is a pallet, you only need to clean it web with alcohol and an aluminum scouring pad. Once dry, apply wax or flat varnish.
2. Stick the studs or hooks into the board, but no in a uniform fashion, so as to put up keys of different sizes. Leave some of them free to hang keys we don't use every day, such as those of the store room, terrace or garage.
3. Hang the board from the wall with plugs so that it covers up the fuse box.

Advices:
To remove the rust from old keys, make a 50-50 mix of linseed oil, apply it to the keys with a tooth brush, then wipe them with a rag soaked in alcohol.
