Utility: Organise your personal or work papers and keep them in order.
Difficulty: High
Cost: High
Materials: - Set of pine drawers (sold in sets of three in DIY shops).
- Wood remover and carpenter's glue.
- Walnut-coloured varnish.
- Joints, screws and nails.
- Four wooden legs.
- Drawer handles or shell type handles.
Steps:
1. Combine the two drawers with the joints, screw them firmly on the back. Sandpaper them until the surface is completely smooth.
2. The drawers have a handle built into the wood. Given that we are going to replace this, they should be fitted with the built-in handle the back. Fix the legs with strong glue, measuring the distances well and leave them to dry for 12 hours with a weight on top.
3. Apply the varnish. If necessary, repeat various times to give a darker tone, especially in the corners. Leave to dry for several hours. Finally place the handles, ensuring the distance between them is exactly the same. The organiser is now ready to use.
Advices: The handles can be of the half-shell type or ceramic depending on personal taste, but they will also be more attractive if they look old. This organiser can be placed in any corner, as a side table for the telephone or in the entrance. It can be with or without legs. It will also be a very practical table for an office or study area.
