Materials:
- Green and white oil-based paint.
- 2.5 cm-wide wooden strip (hardware stores).
- Sandpaper, rollers, tape, wax.
- Headless nails.
- Colorless natural enamel.
Steps:
1. Use the tape to cover the edges of the ceiling, electrical outlets, closets and running boards to keep them from being stained with paint. Cover the floor with paper and plastic. Trace a straight line with a pencil in the spot where you will place the bar to separate the colors.
2. Apply sandpaper to the wall several times and wipe it with a dry cloth.
We start by painting the lower part of the wall with an intense color (it can be orange, green, red or violet, for instance) and using a roller with downward strokes. Once it has dried, add a bit of white paint to achieve a color one or two shades lighter for the next highest part, and we paint again.
3. When the paint has dried, we clean the room and use a fine brush to correct any flaw in the painting job. Install the wooden strip with headless nails. It should be completely straight. Apply enamel to the strip so it will be easier to clean.
Advices:
- You can add a hand-done drawing with special paint. One good idea is to paint the strip to match the closet, the crib (if it is a baby�s room) or the shelves. |
