Repairing a broken marble surface and reusing the item
Utility: Reusing an item
Difficulty: Easy
Cost: Low
Materials:
- Resin epoxy adhesive (DIY store).
- A little white chalk or talcum powder.
- Fine sandpaper.
- A jack (hardware stores) or belt fabric for blinds.
- Polishing wax (DIY store).

Steps:
1. Thoroughly clean the pieces before gluing them and check that they fit together well. Apply a fine layer of epoxy adhesive on both side, in accordance with the instructions. Press them firmly together, using a jack or the belt fabric, making a tight knot to ensure the two parts stay together. Remove the remaining adhesive with a cloth dipped in acetone or alcohol.
2. Once completely dry, check to see if you need to fill any gaps. If so make a paste by mixing some glue with white chalk or talcum powder. Fill it the gaps using your fingers. When dry, rub with some fine sandpaper and apply wax polish over the entire surface.

Advices:
- This is a simple way of restoring any piece of furniture with a marble surface that has become damaged due to old age or misuse.
