Utility: Use old objects to decorate an area of the home

Materials:
- Old keys.
- Wooden pedestal (available in do-it-yourself stores).
- Torch for welding iron (hardware stores).
- Varnish for metal.
Steps:
1. Gather keys of all sizes. Hollow ones are better because they weight less and can be piled up more easily. Clean them well with alcohol, one by one. On a piece of paper, sketch how you want the sculpture to look. Its height will depend on how many keys you have.
2. Solder them one by one, making irregular shapes. Be careful with this step. Once finished (it has to be very stable) place it on a wooden pedestal, holding everything down with screws.
3. Apply a coat of varnish to everything, including the pedestal. Allow to dry, then apply a second coat. This will keep dust from accumulating and make it easier to clean the sculpture.
Advices:
- Sometimes we don�t know what to do with objects that we have kept or collected over the years, or that we have found in a drawer.
- This gives us a chance to take them out and create something new that uses our imagination. It will be decorative and make us feel like an artist because the creation will be unique and original.
- You can also do this with unused coins, of different sizes and from different countries. Do it, and you�ll have fun. |
