Complementary safety system to seat-belts and also known as SRS. It is a nylon bag that fills quickly in the event of collision. The bag fills in thousandths of a second with the gas coming from a chemical reaction activated through a pyrotechnic trigger mechanism. The bag is placed between the occupant and the part of the vehicle that can cause them injuries.
