In the car industry navigators are used based on the GPS system (Global Positioning System) which is a location and navigation system that it is based on the concept of triangulation. A receiver determines the location from the information that it receives from several (never less than 3) of the 24 Navstar satellites in orbit that continually emit GPS signals. They let us mark our position on a digital map and plan a trip fixing intermediate stops without having to worry about locating hotels or petrol stations in advance.
