Peugeot extends its range of products in response to market demand, which is more and more diversified. That is why it has designed the 4007 as a medium-sized off-road, both on the outside as well as on the inside, that measures 4.64m long, with an impressive front end that includes the grille that is inherited from the companys latest models, like the 407 and the 207. Regarding the interior, the French firm has not given many clues, except that it will have a dynamic and functional look with numerous spaces to store objects.
Referring to the engines, the 4007 is equipped with a 2.2 HDi litre diesel that uses a particle filter (FAP). This unit is already used on other models made by the company. It has direct common rail injection and a peak power of 380bhp and a torque of 156Nm as well, a manual 6 speed gearbox. In addition it can work with a 30% mix of bio-fuel.
Its new features worth mentioning are the connectable four-wheel drive via a button. Changing the position of this button it possible to choose between front, total or total traction with central blocking. The front axle has a McPherson type suspension and the rear axle is independent in the back. Peugeot hopes to put the new 4007 in dealers starting in July 2007. |
