Few changes for the 2004 generation of the Clio

The 2004 generation of the Renault Clio has few external changes. In fact it arrives on the Spanish market with redesigned trims called Authentique, Dinamique and Privilege.

Just like the Renault Mgane, the Clio 2004 has adopted levels of equipment (Base, Pack, Confort and Luxe) combined with different atmospheres (Authentique, Expression, Dynamique and Privilege). New upholstery such as Crep Tucan whose effect is a sobering one, as well as the Authentique atmosphere, and the Graphic Night material, chromed satin on the door handles and the metallic grey on the seat belts can be used to customise the Dynamique atmosphere.

In the first stage, the Renault Clio Generation 2004 use the well-known 1.2 litre engine unit for the first two power ranges: 60bhp and 75bhp (with a 16 valve cylinder head operated by a single camshaft). The latter uses a manual or robotised 5 speed gearbox (Quickshift). The third step is a 100bhp 1.4 16 valve petrol unit and is used in conjunction with a manual 5 speed gearbox or with the automatic 4 speed Proactiva.

As for the diesel units, the Renault Clio Generation 2004 incorporates the 65bhp and 80bhp 1.5 dCi. For February 2004, the Renault Clio will again contain the K4M engines (an inner name which refers to the 110bhp 1.6 16V) together with their 182bhp 2 litre units. These two units will be joined by the 100bhp 1.5 dCi that has recently been incorporated onto the Renault Mgane 3 and 5 doors.
