So the Streetka becomes two cars in one. On the one hand, you can enjoy a two-seater coup with a hard roof that includes a heated window; and on the other, just remove the roof and you can enjoy the attractions of a roadster with its characteristic easily handled. This new hard roof will be available progressively on the different European markets as of this December and has its arrival in Spain scheduled for March 2004.

The hard roof only weighs 24 kilos and is fitted onto the anchorings of the soft top, once this is rolled up. An electrical connection means that the heated window can be used. The Ford engineers have developed a system that allows a fast and easy assembly and removal of the roof by two average-sized people. It is lined to give a great look both on the outside as well as on the inside.
The design of the hard roof for the Streetka, a project made by the Ford division dedicated to Customer Services and made by Pininfarina in Turin, has been conceived to pass Fords demanding regulations concerning safety. |
