From now on, Seat sports cars will be classified with the names FR and Cupra. The former because of their design, equipment, chassis and because they include the most powerful range of engines, noticeably sports versions; whereas the Cupra take a step forward in sportines as they are vehicles developed by Seat Sport. The arrival of the new Ibiza FR also means a widening of the FR concept on the Seat product range, since from now on this level of equipment is available both on the Ibiza as well as the Leon.

The new Ibiza FR transmits sportsmanship just looking at it, thanks to its attractive 16 inch alloy wheels, with five double spokes in satin titanium colour. This color can also be seen on the rear-view mirrors. The sportiness is also appreciated on the interior of the Ibiza FR. In the cabin the outstanding feature is the metallic finish on the instrument zone of the dashboard and the central console.

As for the mechanics, the attractive image of the Ibiza FR has the added excellent performance that comes out of the supercharged 1.8 litre engine whose cylinder head has twenty valves. Producing 150bhp the Ibiza FR reaches a top speed of 216kph and accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 8.4 seconds. On the other hand, the high performance is accompanied by a fuel consumption that is more than reasonable. |
