The DSG gear box brings together in the same system the performance of a manual gearbox and the best qualities of an automatic. The smooth handling along with the rapid operation produces a very comfortable and effective drive. So, according to Audi, the standing start acceleration (0 to 100kph) of the Audi A3 2.0 TDI equipped with this automatic system improves by 0.1 seconds compared to the manual version.

The new Audi A3 2,0 TDI with DSG gearbox develops a power of 140bhp at 4 000rpm, and obtains its peak torque of 320Nm between 1 750rpm and 2 500rpm. The top speed is identical to the version with manual gearbox, 207kph, but standing start acceleration from 0 to 100kph is now only 9.4 seconds, one tenth faster. And all this with an avarage consumption of 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres.
