March 2004 is the date chosen for the beginning for the marketing of the new Mercedes-Benz SLK. This second generation will be available with three new engines that will have powers tht go from 163bhp up to 360bhp, among which there is an eight cylinder unit made by Mercedes-AMG. The SLK 350 will be driven by a new 272bhp V6 engine, providing driving pleasure that is particularly dynamic.

This second generation succeeds the one born in autumn 1996. It is wider and longer (the body has gained 72mm in length and is 65mm wider, offering the occupants more practality and comfort in relation to the previous model), and comes with powerful engines, newly devloped running gear, six speed gearbox with ultraprecise drive and with greater agility.

Among the new features that are on this roadster the most notable is the Aisrcarf heating. This device allows hot air to exit through openings built into the headrests so that a hot airflow surrounds the nape of the neck, the neck and the head, just like an invisible scarf, letting the car be driven without the roof even at low temperatures. |
