The Idea is marketed with a range of new engines with a good performance and with very low consumption. To be specific those varaints available are the following: a 70bhp 1.3 16v Multijet; a 100bhp 1.9 16v Multijet; and a 95bhp 1.4 16V Fire. These units are combined with three manual five speed gearboxes and an evolved robotised gear change (Dualogic) that can work both sequentially as well as automatically.

As for the design, the Idea has a solid and safe look and this is at the same time original and elegant. Its inner cabin is versatile and the smallest detail is taken care of; both on the styling as well as the technical. In the centre there is an original instrumentation fitted, and other keys and controls are easy to identify and to use.
� But, if this small people carrier is outstanding for something it its space and flexibility. Thus, the drivdr height can vary between 1.5 and 2 metres, a record in the segment. In addition, the shoulder width on the front seats is 1 402mm, whereas the one for the back seats is 1 365mm� (both are in the top of their segment).
