The new Kia model is called the Cerato

Step by step. Without attracting too much attention the Korean compan Kia goes steadily forward with the creation of new models with a distainct European touch. The latest is called the Cerato, a new family saloon with four or five doors that will soon be on the roads.

Presented at the Geneva Show, Kia will offer its clients the option of choosing between two diesel engines, two petrol units as well as four and five speed manual and automatic gearboxes, according to the model. Both new diesel engines from Kia possess a common rail fuel injection system that takes the vaporised fuel directly to the cylinders at high pressure. This improves the effectiveness of the combustion enormously.

The performance of the new 1.5 CRDi diesel engine is very competitive. Thus, it provides a peak power of 102bhp and an engine torque of 215.7Nm at only 2 000rpm. The 2.0 CRDi diesel engine develops a peak power of 112bhp and an engine torque of 245.2Nm at 2 000 rpm. The clients who prefer petrol or wish to order an automatic transmission can choose between two units: the 105bhp 1.6 DOHC which has an engine torque of 143.2Nm at 4 500rpm; and the 143bhp 2.0 DOHC which develops and an engine torque of 186.0Nm at 4 500rpm.

With the Cerato, 4.3m long, Kia is now in the C segment of the European market. The new Kia Cerato five door, with hatchback has a very modern style whatever angle you look at it from, with harmonious proportions and refined details that provide excellent aerodynamics and an elegant image. Soon it will be possible to admire it on the European highways.
