One of the signs of this Outlander Turbo�s identity is that it uses a version of the engine installed on the Mitsubishi Motors flagship, the Lancer Evolution VIII. Adapting the 2 litre 4 cylinder 4G63 engine, a DOHC turbo with 16 valves and ECI-MULTI intercooler, this unit will compensate its owner with 202bhp at 5 500rpm and 303Nm at 3 500rpm. With this engine this 4x4 offers an excellent performance (0-100kph in 7.7 secs. and a top speed of 220kph), whereas the fuel consumption is similar to the 2.4 MIVEC version (combined cycle: 10.1l/100km).

On the other hand, this version is still coupled to the 5 speed gear box. However, the final ratio has been changed to 4 529 (instead of 4 352 for the 2.0 and 2.4 MIVEC) with the aim of reducing the noise at high speed. Moreover, the Outlander Turbo maintains its current driving features on the whole range, since its low centre of gravity, its permanent 4 wheel drive, its disc brakes on the 4 wheels, the rear multi-link suspension and the 215/55R17 tyres were designed taking into consideration the launch of this new version.

On the exterior, the Turbo shows off light clusters with transparent lenses and frames in a colour similar to titanium with a bullet shape, grooved interior front grilles (instead of mesh), a more aggressive design on the lower part of the bumper moulding, lateral dynamic deflectors and wheel arches, more streamlined combined rear light clusters... These new features will also appear on the rest of the versions in the range.
