Unlike the present version, the new Focus transmits robustness and quality. The angle of the windshield and the sharpened sporty rear end accentuate the personality of the contours on the new Focus. In addition, its lower appearance accentuates the sporty image and dynamic aptitudes. Details such as the design of the back end, with high thin light clusters, has let the designers create the widest hatch door in the segment.
In the cabin, the most outstanding is the quality of the instrument panel and the central console, that creates a cosy sensation as it surrounds the occupants. The Sport and Titanium models base their new inner atmosphere on a whole new range of colours. Just like on the C-MAX, Ford has used material with hypoallergenic qualities on all the interiors of the new Focus range.
The range of petrol engines is made up of four 16 valve units: a 1.4 (80bhp), a 1.6 (100bhp), a 1.6 Ti-VCT (115bhp) and a 2.0 (145bhp). The diesel engine section includes, two advanced 1.6 Duratorq TDCi (110bhp) and a 2.0 (136bhp). New technologies are also included, developed to satisfy purchasers. The new Focus, that will be produced in Valencia (Spain) and Saarlouis (Germany), will be marketed in a wide range that includes 3 and 5 door models, Family version, MPV Focus C-MAX and a four door, that will see the light in 2005. |
