Honda takes the FR-V and the CR-V Diesel to Paris

The Japanese company Honda has prepared a menu made up of a debut in Europe for the FR-V, a new mini MPV, and another for the CR-V with diesel engine for the Paris Motor Show.
The first of these, the FR-V, is in the words of the manufacturer a vehicle that "moves away from the conventional mini MPV". The FR-V comes with streamlined contours, a distinctive configuration of the seats in 3 + 3, the central seats slide and go down by way of a simple mechanism that guards the back seats in the floor. The position of the seats contributes to an incredible flexibility, and even with all the seats occupied it leaves a space of 439 litres (VDA) for luggage. The FR-V will begin to be marketed in November.

The other Parisian exclusive will be the Diesel CR-V. Up to now this medium sized SUV was marketed with a petrol engine. Now, the combination of the diesel engine with the excellent performance of the CR-V is a great challenge to the rest of the market. The engine torque on the i-CTDi 2.2 litre engine, that reaches its maximum value of 340Nm at only 2 000rpm, exceeds the performance of its main rivals in all driving conditions.

Moreover, Honda arrives in Paris proud of the 18% increase in registrations of its models in the first half of 2004, and which reflects the increasing solidity of the companys models.
