The two renewed versions will be launched onto the market simultaneously, according to an announcement from Porsche. On the one hand, the German manufacturer has been working on the 2.7 litre Boxster until it reached 240bhp, 12 more than on the previous model. And on the other hand, the performance of the Boxster S, has increase up to 280bhp (20bhp more) whereas the piston displacement stays at 3.2 litres.
There are also improvements to the performance on these coupes. The Boxster needs only 6.2 seconds to accelerate from 0kph to 100kph, while the Boxster S does it in just 5.5 seconds. The basic model reaches 256kph and consumes 96 litres, in line with the norms published by the EU. The top speed of the variant S is 268kph, while the average fuel consumption is 10.4 litres.
The changes arrive with increased active and passive safety and to the styling. The latter section boasts larger wider wheels which emphasize the wider body. The new front end clearly shows the relation with the 911 series, but it still offers the typical face of the Boxster. The basic price for Spain is �48 264 for the Boxster and �57 352 for the Boxster S (including taxes and transport).
