With the new F430, Ferrari takes a step forward in the use of aluminium technology on its creations. The model hides an 8 cylinder engine that now has 4 308cc (that is where the F430 name comes from) and it leaves the 3.6 litre on the 360 Mdena far behind. With this, the power rises to 490bhp at 8 500rpm, that is to say, 90bhp more than the 360. The relation is nothing less than 114bhp per litre.
The performance on this new Italian pearl is a top speed beyond 315kph which many F1 teams would want on the straights at Monza. In addition, the F430 only needs four seconds to reach 100kph. To impress you once more there is the power/weight ratio which on the new model is 2.8kg/bhp.
Moreover, the company announces two exclusives, that are not really. The first is an electronic differential, which is also mounted on models like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII; and a revolving control on the steering wheel that is used to manage the vehicles system of dynamic control, very similar to the one used by Michael Schumacher when racing. Ferrari will give more details after the Paris Show.
