In Spain 1.6 children either die or are seriously injured in traffic accidents, a figure that puts pain at the bottom of the European table. Nevertheless, according to the RACC these deaths could be avoided, or at least lowered, through a slight change to Spanish legislation. They also propose that rear safety seats for children under 12 are obligatory like in the majority of the UE.
