Where he should, that's where Fernando Alonso finished the Monaco GP. In spite of this, the fifth place can be considered a good result after a not so great weekend in general. Renault looked for a victory or at least a podium finish on a track which suited the cars' characteristics. However, the team didn't perform as the expected level and the victory was deservedly earned by an unexpecting Montoya. As to the Alonso's possibilities, there had been too much speculation. If the Ferrari, McLaren and Williams drivers do not fail, the Asturian driver has little left to do and the fifth place reflects the exact situation of the team. And one should insist on the fact that this is the correct result. After a few weak trials, with more nerves tan normal, Alonso's race was regular and errorless and he continues to be the star of an extraordinary season. The victories will arrive, but we will all have to have a little more patience. Back
