In the most grandiose of� scenarios, in the best possible place, Michael Schumacher definitively consolidated his�legend status. He won a chaotic U.S. GP in which all his main rivals, excepting Raikkonen, failed to shine. Montoya and Schumacher's brother Ralf, above all, showing that he is made of sterner stuff.� And this�when you take into account that he started the race from behind. On a complicated track and with the rain which came and went. Under those conditions one had to be very good to take advantage of tyre changes to perfection, to go faster than anybody in any circumstances and, above all, not to make a single mistake on a tremendously slippy track. And this�he made it all look so easy�as ever. The red Ferrari flew and only the tenacity of an extraordinary Raikkonen prevented Schumacher from sentencing his sixth crown. They will have to wait a fortnight for the Japanese GP, the same place where other big names in the history of F1, such as Prost and Senna, achieved their titles. After this, it is said that he may decide to retire. Should he do so, it is difficult that anybody else would be able to equal his honours list. Back�
