They say that the 2004 season started in Melbourne but I don't think so. What's more, the race disputed in Australia yesterday seemed more like a prolongation of the 2003 season. Twelve months have passed and everything remains the same. Michael Schumacher, who many people had started to write off as being dismotivated and finished, gave his rivals a good hiding in Melbourne. Pole position, fastest lap and an impeccable victory ahead of Barrichello, which confirmed the high level of the Ferrari's. There was a huge deception for the Williams team, whose drivers are no responding at all to the potential of their cars and spend more time fighting between themselves and making declarations rather than applying their talent on the track. This is nothing new either. The confirmation, just as in 2003, that Fernando Alonso is an extraordinary driver. His race at Albert Park, impeccable after a sensational start, confirms him as a serious contender for at least the runners-up spot. Also, as in 2003, it confirms that apart from this there is very little else. We are as we were, make no doubts about it. Only Alonso, and maybe Montoya, are capable of battling against the great Schumacher.
