The victory earned by Michael Schumacher in the French GP is not just another victory. The German driver has achieved in Magny Cours a victory of a real champion which, on this occasion, he will have to share with Ross Brawn, the sports director of Ferrari. Changing race strategy along the way, changing from three to four stops, Ferrari brilliantly neutralized the impeccable performance of Fernando Alonso, who finished second. The Ferrari is used to winning with a large margin of difference, but in this occasion differences were smaller. In the face of the real possibility that the Asturian driver might spoil his race, Schumacher and Brawn decided to change he tactics by radio in order to surprise everyone, mainly the Renault team which, in spite of everything, had a magnificent home GP, achieving in the process a pole position. It seems easy, but it is not at all and changing and improvising in such a way can only be done when the technical team is very good and the driver a genius. That said, after Schumacher, the best was Alonso who returned to the podium in style. Worse fate was suffered by Gen, tenth, but at least he will be able to race again in seven days time, in the Great British GP.
