Sauber will still be present in Formula 1
BMW will compete with the official name of "BMW Sauber F1" next season. So the German firm will keep the name of the team that it bought a few months ago, as a tribute to the team founded by Peter Sauber. BMW will double the number of team members that it had before at the base in Hinwil, Switzerland, and will make its new cars debut at Valencia in January 2006.
Fisichella loses his driving licence
The Italian authorities have confiscated Giancarlo Fisichella�s driving licence. The Italian was surprised by a Police speed control in Rome when he was travelling at 148kph, in an area with a limit of 60kph. Fisichella explained that he was going so fast because the person who was looking after his daughter had called to tell him that the child had a very high fever.
Midland reveals its look
The Midland team recently presented its logo and the car colours. The Russian team replaces the yellow that was Jordan�s trade mark, the structure they acquired a few months ago, and turns white, silver grey and red; the tribal colours of their new project. Moreover Alex Shnaider has received the relevant licence from the Russian Federation to compete in Formula 1.
Spain may get a Formula 1 team
Four Spanish teams that participate in different competitions are studying the possibilities that they may have of entering Formula 1. Epsilon Euskadi, Racing Engineering, Campos Racing and BCN Competici�n are the Spanish candidates if and when the number of teams on the grid is increased in or later than 2008. Bernie Ecclestone wants at least 15 teams in the medium term.
Monteiro, close to signing for Midland
Tiago Monteiro may be about to sign a one year contract, for next season, with Midland F1. The latest rumours concerning the Portuguese driver say that the deal is practically closed and his stay at the team, that takes over from Jordan, is certain to be extended especially now that Narain Karthikeyan has refused to stay with the team. The news could announced officially at the beginning of December.
