In less than three days, Ferrari has lost the trio that gave the team so many successes in the last few years. Accompanying Michael Schumacher in the exit door are Ross Brawn and Jean Todt, who has a new office job becoming the new executive director of Ferrari. Paolo Martinelli, up to now the Maranello team�s chief engine specialist will become the boss of Fiat.

During the last few races of the season there was speculation about Ross Brawn taking a sabbatical year. The rumours have not taken long to be confirmed and the team�s technical director will not continue working there. Brawn was the boss in charge of conceiving Ferrari�s race strategies, and to a great extent the reason why the team won so many titles in the last few years. It could be said that Brawn was the thinker and Schumacher the enforcer of the Italian team.

The loss of Jean Todt and Paolo Martinelli will also be important for Ferrari, although the former will stay as the executive director of the company, and the second will become a member of the board of directors at Fiat. Stefano Domenicali will be the man who replaces Todt, whereas Mario Almondo will occupy the post held by Ross Brawn until this week. Ferrari has published an official press release thanking the three for their dedication to the team.
