"I think that I have never seen anybody like Fernando" says Briatore in an interview he gave to the sports paper Marca. The director of Renault hopes to be World Champion in 2005, something that he also mentioned last year "We have said from the beginning that next season  is the one where we can hope to win the title. We are in a good position. Fernando has matured and the mechanics and engineers are working well. I believe that in F1 there are two happy teams, Ferrari and us, and this is very important".

Alonso�s good start to the season - podium in Australia and a great race in Malaysia - and Renault�s too - third in the World Championship makes people thre optimistic and Briatore does not rule out anything "This season there is a possibility that Fernando will be champion. Sometimes you do not know what can happen and there is always a chance". What the Italian playboy does not like at all are the rumours that put his Spanish lad in the Ferrari team "Nobody has called me. When they do, we will then decide. I do not understand why he has to go to Ferrari. For the time being he has contract with us".

Briatore defines his team�s start to the season as very good "Both in Australia and Malaysia. Now he aims to carry on improving constantly "We are with a work programme that will make us very competitive. We will see what happens in the European races with the new engine that we will have from Imola on".
