Ferrari began to dominate the championship in Melbourne with an unquestionable one-two. After seeing that exhibition, their rivals consoled themselves by saying that in Malaysia and Bahrain, with high temperatures, the Michelin tyres would go better. But it was not like this and the domination of the reds is right now stonger than ever. Now to top it all two dates come which in the last few years have been very kind to the current World Champion: Imola and Catalunya. This is starting to be similar to the 2002 season, when Schumacher and Barrichello won 15 of the 17 races that season.

"This is a dream result that rounds off an exceptional weekend" was how Schumacher summed things up and who dominated the GP from start to finish with an imposing authority. His drive was simply perfect. "It was necessary to pay a lot of attention to your lines because the track was very slippery on the outside. I tried to stay below the limit, driving very carefully" the German explained. This is his victory number 73 as a Formula 1 driver and on the Saturday he had got his pole number 68.

Jean Todt, director of Ferrari, was delighted "This is very impressive. I must admit that I did not expect to see the exhibition that my drivers gave today, on this fantastic circuit. Rubens Barrichello also drove a good race, but he could do nothing to beat his team mate, as he himself recognised "Having a great champion like Michael in front of me there was nothing I could do. I tried to drive carefully and so avoid having any problems".
