Ralf not back for Belgium either
Ralf Schumachers return to competition is delayed. The German declared himself ready to return in the Hungarian GP, but the latest medical tests advise against it. "I feel well, but I must listen to what the doctors say" is how the future Toyota driver consoled himself. He could be back in the FW26 in the Italian GP which is raced on 12th September. Until then his substitute will be Antonio Pizzonia, who was seventh at Hockenheim.
Trulli, an honorary citizen of Tollo
The Italian town of Tollo has granted honorary citizenship to Jarno Trulli. The driver who was born in Abruzzo started his sporting career in Tollo at the wheel of a kart. The first fan club of the driver who won this years Monaco was started in this town. Trulli, whose future is not yet decided - in his home country it is said that he has already signed for Toyota - has received a plaque and a parchment as a souvenir.
Mosley could carry on after 2005
A short time ago, Max Mosley announced that he would leave the presidency of the FIA this year, but just after this announcement he changed his mind and said that he would see out his term which ends in December 2005. Now he has gone further and has hinted that he may present himself for re-election. The British businessman, 64, admits that it is not his intention but he is receiving pressure from FIA to do so.
Minardi gave an exhibition in South Africa
Minardi put on a show at the South African circuit of Kyalami, a few days before the Hungarian GP, using their usual two-seater exhibition cars. Paul Stoddart was over the moon We have just had a great weekend. There is no doubt that the 60 000 fans that saw the two raaces love F1. Gianmaria Bruni, accompanied by Peter Wharton-Hood and Alan van der Merwe, with Ruben Goldberg were the winners.
Zlobin will test with Minardi
The Russian Sergey Zlobin has signed with Minardi so that he can do a series of tests this season, from the end of August to December. The driver was with this modest team in 2002, doing three days of tests - a total of 840km. It would be important to have a Russian in this sport since the level of interest in F1 there is growing daily. We will help Sergey reach a good level for the competition. The driver is sponsored by the businessman Alexy Zborovskiy.
