The official name is Phakisa Freeway and has a length of 4 242m. Inaugurated in 1999 and 250km fom Johannesbourg it is famous for its excessively slippery and bumpy surface. So it is extremely difficult to control large bikes. To avoid all this last November it was resurfaced as it lacked grip. The altitude, 1 350m, means that the power levels can fall by up to 15%.
