There were no halfway marks in Ro de Janeiro. Glory for some and failure for others. Jorge Lorenzos happiness, winning his first ever GP race, becoming the youngest Spaniard to win a GP at 16 years and 139 days and the second youngest ever. Only Marco Melandri has done better when he was 15 years and 324 days.

Valentino Rossis satisfaction on the podium was eloquent. He finished first to get his third consecutive victory of the year, and now has 18 podiums on the trot now has half the world title in his pocket. Sete Gibernau began directing the race, but until Valentino wanted, just like in the old times. The Italian went into the lead on the ninth lap and for the rest of the race the others were looking at his back. His advantage is now 51 points with four GPs left.

Manuel Poggiali was the other great winner as Toni Elas and Fonsi Nieto failed. The leader of the WSC 250cc category is now a bit more champion after, a heart-stopping race, the Spaniard fell on a curve where he could not control the bike and left him a free road to victory. Elas was up on the bike again soon and crossed the line with the fairing in pieces, but in 18th place and so he did not even get a point. Poggiali is still in the lead with 190 points, Elas is fourth with 39 fewer and Fonsi Nieto, fifth 47 behind.

125cc Daniel Pedrosa has congratulated Jorge Lorenzo on his victory, but disappointed with his own fourth position. Dani was able to win the race until, with four laps left, he got a broken piston ring and nearly did not finish. Stoner and de Angelis accompanied Lorenzo on the podium and Pedrosa, from the pits, saw his advantage reach 42 points. Pedrosa is a bit nearer the title now.
